My interest in bicycles started at an early age.  Here I am helping to fix my first flat tire
at age 17 months under the supervision of my father and sister.  June 5, 1966
This is the tension gauge that I use
when I build wheels to make sure that
the tension of each spoke is correct
This is an aircraft wing skin check fixture that I designed.  The view
is looking from the outboard tip of the wing towards the fuselage.
This view is taken as if you were looking out the aircraft window at
the wing. This check fixture is the tool that is used to verify that the
aluminum wing skin panels are bent to the proper contour as defined
by the engineering drawing.  The wing skin panels are lowered by
overhead crane and placed on the check fixture. The panels must be
bent to within .055 inches to make sure that the rivets that attach the
wingskin to the substructure are not overstressed.
I cultivated my interest in preventative maintenance, and a properly lubricated machine at
the early age of 20 months old.  Sept 6, 1966
